Obituary for Milton Lawrence Heidt

Milton Lawrence Heidt

Milton was born on 8-1-1933 to Wilford and Annabelle (Hauk) Heidt in his grandparent’s parlor in Plymouth, Michigan. Moving to South Lyon (Green Oak Township) when he was very young, where he lived the remainder of his life, never moving more than 2 miles away from the farm.
After graduating from South Lyon High school, he married his sweetheart Maxine Van Tuyle. Their marriage produced four daughters-Kathleen, Christine, Cheryl and Karen. Sadly, after 22 years, Maxine lost her life to cancer. In 1974 Milton married V. Madeline Goodall. Madeline also succumbed to cancer after 35 years of marriage. At the age of 77, Milton married Margaret Segrest.
After thirty years, Milton retired from Michigan Seamless Tubing. He always had a part-time job or two from working on his father’s dairy farm to driving the milk truck for Twin Pines Dairy to driving school bus. In retirement Milton was known for his large vegetable and gladiola gardens.
Milton is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughters Christine (Richard) Wood and Karen Dozler both of Ankeny, Iowa; grandchildren Meggan (Jamie) Keith of New York, Joshua Wood, Abigail (Clayton) Wood, Tyler Dozler and Jacob Dozler all of Iowa; great-granddaughter Olivia; sons-in-law Philip Valrance and Robert Hill; step-children Wade (Danna) Segrest, Julie (Ron) Webber, and Brian (Brittany) Segrest; step-grandchildren Rebecca Webber, Reeve Segrest and Sarah Webber.
