Obituaries

Richard William Hausrath, age 87, passed away February 4, 2010.  He was born on Dec. 23, 1922, in Cleveland, OH, to the late William and Lucy (Bandelow) Hausrath. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.   He was the last Superintendent of the DelRay Power Plant and worked for Detroit Edison for over 30 years. Richard was a member of the Professional Engineering Society of MI,  Michigan LST Association, Friends of Salem-South Lyon Library and volunteered by caring for the library gardens, and  was a former member of the Plymouth Elks Lodge.  He lived to make his 65th Anniversary on January 30, 2010. Richard is survived by his wife of 65 years Virginia Hausrath; his children: Deborah R. (John) Rosczyk of Roscommon, Daniel R. (Wynn) Hausrath of Ann Arbor; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his sisters: Ruth LaChine and Ellen McCready.  Visitation Feb. 7, Sunday,  1 – 4 p.m. Funeral Feb. 8, Monday, 10 a.m. with final visitation at 9:15 a.m. at PHILLIPS FUNERAL HOME, 122 West Lake Street (Ten Mile), South Lyon.  Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Salem-South Lyon District Library.  Online guestbook www.phillipsfuneral.com
