Obituary for Betty Jean Tuite

Betty Jean Tuite (McPeck) died on February 25, 2018 in South Lyon, MI. She was 87 years old. Ms. Tuite was born on Janurary 23, 1931, in Detroit, MI to her parents Samuel and Melissa McPeck. She married the love of her life, Robert Tuite on October 16, in 1948. She lived in Detroit for many years before moving to Livonia and eventually to South Lyon. Ms. Tuite enjoyed cooking, playing cards, bird watching and crocheting. As a child she played the accordion and competed in the state fair. Betty and Robert enjoyed listening to music and dancing the Boogie Woogie at dance halls in the 1940's. She enjoyed sharing those hobbies of cooking, card playing, crocheting and music with her five granddaughters. Ms. Tuite is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert S. and Diane (Greene) Tuite of Howell, MI; her five granddaughters, Heather (David) Goemer, Mandi (Brian) St. Onge, Cori-Beth Tuite, Ashley (Tyrone) Clay, Melissa Anderson; and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Tuite; and her parents Samuel and Melissa McPeck. A memorial will take place on Monday, March 5, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home, 122 W. Lake St., South Lyon, MI, 48178. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ms. Tuite's life.
